| dc.description.abstract | Conhecer as lesões bucais mais prevalentes nos adultos é de suma importância para que o profissional possa diagnosticar e tratar a mesma da melhor maneira possível. Pois, sabe-se que a cavidade bucal é um local que sofre diversos estímulos ao longo dos anos, como: uso de álcool, cigarro, próteses, traumas da mastigação e até mesmo a perda dentária e com isto, ocorre uma alteração em todo o sistema estomatognático e o reflexo disto pode ser uma patologia na cavidade bucal. Então, o objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar os prontuários de pacientes adultos na faixa etária de dezenove a cinquenta e nove anos atendidos na Clínica de Diagnóstico Oral do Centro Universitário de Lavras no período de 2009 a 2018. Desta forma, foram analisados um total de 17.000 prontuários, sendo que apenas 228 destes cumpriram os critérios de inclusão. Os pacientes apresentaram média de idade de 42,5 anos e as alterações de mucosa bucal mais encontradas foram: Hiperplasia Fibrosa Inflamatória (38,7%); Hiperqueratose (9,68%) e Mucocele (7,53%). Além disso, houve uma concordância de 75,4% entre o diagnóstico clínico e o diagnóstico histopatológico. Estes resultados fornecem informações valiosas sobre a prevalência de lesões de mucosa bucal em pacientes adultos. Sendo, as lesões reativas, como a Hiperplasia Fibrosa Inflamatória, as mais frequentemente diagnosticadas. No entanto, mais estudos são necessários para fornecer informações mais precisas sobre a prevalência das lesões de mucosa bucal, e consequentemente desenvolver projetos de prevenção. | en_US |
| dc.description.edition | Knowing the most prevalent oral lesions in adults is of utmost importance so that the professional can diagnose and treat it in the best possible way. Well, it is known that the oral cavity is a place that undergoes various stimuli over the years such as: use of alcohol, cigarettes, prostheses, chewing trauma and even tooth loss and with this, there is a change in the entire stomatognathic system and the reflection of this can be a pathology in the oral cavity. So, the objective of this work was to analyze the medical records of adult patients aged between nineteen and fifty-nine years attended at the Oral Diagnosis Clinic of a University Center in the South of Minas Gerais from 2009 to 2018. Thus, 17,000 records, 228 of which met the inclusion criteria. The patients had a mean age of 42.5 years and the most common alterations in the oral mucosa were: Inflammatory Fibrous Hyperplasia (38.7%); Hyperkeratosis (9.68%) and Mucocele (7.53%). In addition, there was a 75.4% agreement between the clinical diagnosis and the histopathological diagnosis. These results provide valuable information on the prevalence of lesions of the oral mucosa in adult patients. Therefore, reactive lesions, such as Inflammatory Fibrous Hyperplasia, were the most frequently diagnosed. However, more studies are needed to provide more accurate information on the prevalence of lesions of the oral mucosa, and consequently develop prevention projects. | en_US |
